Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What is a French pilsner?
- French pilsners are hybrid beers. They're a cross between a standard Czech pilsner and a French biére de garde: a great blend of crispness, hoppy aromatics, and a slightly malty finish.
- There's sediment at the bottom of my bottle. Is that normal?
- YES! We brew traditional biére de garde and trappist-style beer so all our bottles are lagered and conditioned naturally. All our beer is aged for a minimum of 3 months to allow the yeast to produce millions of tiny bubbles, yielding the appropriate mouthfeel for these styles.
- Can I store my beer at room temperature?
- The short answer is yes (provided your room temperature is below 68F) though because these bottles still contain live yeast, we recommend BRAMS beer be stored in the fridge or under cellar conditions (50F or below) up to a maximum of 18 months from purchase. This will account for the aging that occurred prior to the beer being sold.
- Do you have a tasting room?
- Sorry, no. We're a production-only brewery though there are many places where you can find us on draft. Check out our Instagram page @bramsbeer
- Do you have any other beers or seasonal beers coming out?
- The good folks at Vromans 1894 wine bar (Have a look if you haven't been - you can read and drink and snack at the same time! It's incredible!) have let us take over all their taps so we'll regularly have a seasonal tap of something fruity (like a seltzer) or a rotating dark ale (our recent was a holiday blonde stout).
- Our NA is usually a version of our French pilsner on draft but every so often we also rotate in another NA draft beer.
- Where do you ship?
- We currently deliver locally throughout most of Los Angeles County (and if your order is $20 or more, we'll deliver to you for freeeeeee!) and ship across California via UPS.
- Did you say draft NA?
- Why yes, how astute of you. Our NA offerings are currently only on-draft. If you purchase NA through our website, we'll require a suitable container to fill the NA. Our aim is to create NA beer, not soda, which means that an NA biére de garde product from BRAMS needs to meet our CO2 standards. Right now, that is only achievable with a retail draft system. GrowlerWerks makes a decent one (we get NO commission from this recommendation).
- How do we submit a reseller location?
- First, THANK YOU! Please send an email to info@drinkbrams.com.
- Do you host any events?
- We've participated in a number of events and are working on hosting our own. Follow us on Instagram for upcoming announcements.
- What's up with your loyalty program?
- Ah yes, BRAMS Centimes. Every dollar spent at BRAMS is 1 point with the Centime program. After the first $40, you'll be sent a franc coin (yes, it's an actual retired franc coin) along with your first 10% off coupon. Every dollar spent thereafter continues to earn points and members also continue to receive free beer. Centime members were also the first to try our Trappist-style Dubbel when it launched last year, for example.
- Does BRAMS have a recycling program?
- YES! We are SO glad you asked. We encourage recycling of most packaging and merch at BRAMS. Our cans are easily recycled curbside but we'll happily take those from you to recycle if it's more convenient for you. We regularly collect your empty bottles as well as 4-pack bottle carriers (and will offer you a 5% discount on your order every time you bring bottles or beer carriers back to us).
- Merchandise can also be brought back to us. Our branded embroidered sweatshirts are made from 100% certified recycled cotton right here in California and we're committed to keeping these products in a closed loop. When you bring back your sweatshirt at the end of its life, we'll give you a 4-pack of beer to thank you for helping us do this. Email us at: info@drinkbrams.com when you're ready to recycle your sweatshirt or teku glasses.
